There is a lot of thought in the symbolism all around
you. Each symbol encapsulating the energies of the centuries of
us all lending to both it's power and meaning.
Esoteric
Religious Symbols and Sigils, Symbols and Talisman are a symbol
created for a specific magical purpose or focus within a given
faith. A Sigil is usually made up of a complex combination of
several specific symbols or geometric figures each with a specific
meaning or intent.
The term Sigil
derives from the Latin sigilum meaning "seal," though
it may also be related to the Hebrew (segulah meaning "word,
action or item of spiritual effect"). The inherently individualistic
nature of chaos magic leads most chaos magicians to prepare and
cast sigils in unique ways, as the process of sigilization has
never been defined rigorously and the magician is expected to
'fill in the blank spots' by his or her self. Sigils are used
for magical spells as well as for the creation of thoughtforms.
Below are just some examples of thousands used!:
Modern sigils,
symbols and talisman may appear in any medium -- physical, virtual,
or mental. Visual symbols are the traditional, and presumably
still most popular, form but the use of aural and tactile symbols
in magic is not unheard of.
It is not
to say that symbols "alone" all have the power but the
one that beholds AND has the power within is the most efficient
combination. Be it symbolism that help aids one through a ritual,
a Sigil or talisman that is to bring luck - together the intensity
of your energy is key as mentioned above.
It is important
that if one is to progress spiritually or increase ones “powers”
that you bear in mind that the sigils, talisman and seals etc
is only a catalyst therefore only a vessel a conductor, that is
only as good as the source behind it….YOU!
Many Blessings to You!

Erzulie:
In the Vodoun (Voodoo) Pantheon, Erzulie is the Loa (goddess)
of love, romance, art, and sex. Three in aspect, she can be Erzulie
Freda, a virgin goddess likened to the Virgin Mary; Erzulie Dantor,
loa of jealousy and passion; La Siren, a personification of the
sea and goddess of motherhood. Her color is pink, her animal a
white dove. She is associated with the Lukumi Orisha Oshun, and
sometimes Chango. (as Erzulie Dantor).
Orphic egg: The Orphic egg
is usually represented as an egg surrounded by a coiled serpent.
The egg ymbolizes the belief in the Greek Orphic religion that
the universe originated from within a silver egg. The first emanation
from this egg, described in an ancient hymn, was Phanes-dionysus,
the personification of light:
Cagliostro Seal: Known
as the Seal of Cagliostro, this unusual symbol depicts a serpent,
an apple in its mouth, impaled with an arrow. This was found amongst
the personal effects of Count Cagliostro upon his death in 195
.The image was later incorporated into the emblem of the Hermetic
Brotherhod of Luxor, an early occult fraternity.
Sigil of Ameth: "Ameth"
is Hebrew for "truth." The Sigil of Ameth (or Sigillum
Dei Aemeth) is best known as the large, complex circular symbol,
with six pointed figures and the names of God and various angels
incribed thereon. It is best known in relation to the Enochian
workings of Dr. John Dee, as he was instructed to re-create it
by angels he contacted during his scrying sessions with Edward
Kelly.
AGLA: A protective magical
talisman, inscribed "AGLA," designed for the reverse
of the Sigil of Ameth by Dr. John Dee, under the direction of
the angel Uriel. It is a common form of an amulet already in use
for several hundred years.
Necronomicon: The
"gate of Yog-Sohoth," is a false sigil usually found
on the cover of an edition of the legendary and quite fake "Necronomicon,"
a falsified grimoire based on the work of horror fiction writer
H. P. Lovecraft.
Sigil of Lucifer: This
is a lesser known historical magical sigil used occasionally as
an emblem by modern Satanists. The image originates in the sixteenth
century Italian Grimoirium Verum, or "Grimoire of Truth."
Used in conjunction with other symbols, its original purpose of
the sigil was to aid in a visual invocation of the angel Lucifer.
The figure is probably derived from an earlier work, most likely
drawn from a magic square whose origins are now lost.
Holy Table: The specially
constructed table built by Dr. John Dee for use in his Enochian
workings. The characters in the center are from the enochian alphabet.
Pentagram: The pentagram
is a five pointed star commonly associated with Wicca, Ritual
magick, Satanism, and Masonry. The Pentagram has a long and complex
history as a religious symbol. Found scrawled in caves of ancient
Babylonia, the five pointed star was copied from the star shaped
pattern formed by the travels of the planet Venus in the sky.
The emblem remained popular through many cultures and time periods-
it was called the pentalpha by the Greeks, who believed it had
magical properties. For a time, it was the official seal of the
city of Jerusalem.
Tetraktys: a triangular
figure composed of the first ten points arranged in the shape
of a pyramid. The tetraktys was devised by the Greek philosopher
Pythagoras as a symbol of the Cosmos. It is composed of the integers
one through ten, aligned in four rows (tetraktys means 'fourfold).
The tetraktys and its mysteries influenced the early kabbalists,
who devised a similar form to expound upon the Tetragrammaton
(the four lettered name of god in Hebrew scripture). The Kabbalistic
Tree of Life, with its spheres of emanation, is derived from the
tetraktys.
Nuit: The Goddess Nuit (Nut,
Nwt, Nuith, Nathor). Nut (noot) is the Egyptian Goddess of the
sky, representing the fullness of the cosmos. She is usually depicted
nude, a body made of stars, arching over the world. In the Thelemic
faith, Nut is Nuit, the personification of infinite space, the
goddess who revealed herself to Aleister Crowley in 1904.
YHVH: The four letter tetragrammaton
(Greek, 'four letters') is the 'true' name of the God of the Hebrew
scriptures. It never appears complete in written form; only the
four consonant letters, YHVH (Hebrew, Yod Heh Vau Heh, read right
to left), or in the Latin version, IHVH.Kabbalistic doctrine assigns
four states of the manifestation of creation the the four letters.
The four weapons of Ritual magick symbolize the essence of the
letters of the tetragrammaton; these also form the basis for the
four suits in Tarot cards. Ritual magicians emply various pronunciation
of the names in theurgic rituals, usally intoning the names of
the letters rather than trying to recreate an ancient pronunciation.
Babalon Seal: This seven
pointed star is the symbol chosen by Aleister Crowley to symbolize
Babalon, the Thelemic Goddess who is the personification of the
kabbalistic sphere of Binah. The seven points are the seven letters
of the name babalon, the seven planets, the seven "veils,"
and the seven chakras.
Helm of Awe: The Helm of Awe
is magical symbol of protection used by early Vikings. Worn between
the eyes, it may have been intended to confer invincibility in
the wearer or instill fear in one's enemies. Today, it is used
as a charm of protection by Asatru believers.
Nine
Angles:The emblem of the Satanic secret society The Order
of the Nine Angles. The angles are derived from the connections
between the seven sefirot on the Tree of Life.
