It is a table showing the daily movements
of the Sun, Moon and celestial bodies. Both astronomers and
astrologers use them, but in different forms; astrological ephemeredes give
the movements of the planets
through the zodiac signs, while the astronomical version instead gives details
such as celestial co-ordinates
and ascension. How do I use the Ephemeris?
The table has columns for the date, the sidereal time, the Sun, Moon, planets
and Nodes. The planets and
the North Nodes are represented by their astrological glyph, or symbols. The
glyphs of the zodiac sign each
planet currently occupying is given the first day of each month, at the top
of the column; thereafter a different
Zodiac glyph in that column indicates that the planet has travelled into another
sign. An “r” or a “d” in a
column indicates that the planet turns retrograde or direct that day. The Sun
and Moon never turn retro
grade; the North Node always goes retrograde, or backwards. The tables are set
for 0h0m (midnight)

Is the Ephemeris for you?
Most people studying Astrology may not be ready to use an Ephemeris. However once you've mastered how to
read it, there's a world of information at your fingertips. You may take
peek at the rest of the year if you like or just review your horoscope for 2006!
